Chambre is an independent curatorial and editorial project focused on contemporary art and the relationship between artistic practices, cultural histories and forms of knowledge that exist beyond the boundaries of the conventional.
The project began as a curatorial research before becoming a magazine.
Its research focuses on rituality, esotericism, the occult, mysticism, the body, divination and intimacy, examining the ways in which these subjects have been represented, interpreted and marginalised within contemporary culture and the art world.
Rather than treating these subjects as isolated categories, Chambre considers their interactions as part of a broader cultural landscape. The magazine looks at how ideas, practices and forms of belief move between different contexts, and how they continue to influence contemporary artistic production.
The publication will include different forms of editorial content, from commissioned and selected texts to interviews, reviews, critical contributions, research and experimental material.
Chambre does not seek to provide a definitive interpretation of the subjects it investigates. Instead, it operates as an editorial and curatorial framework through which different perspectives can be placed in dialogue and examined in relation to one another.
The project is independently founded, curated and edited.
